Terms of use
Last updated: 2026-04-29.
One Scout is a tool for Scouts Canada Scouters and groups to track badge progress, manage events, and communicate with members and parents. By creating an account you agree to use One Scout in line with Scouts Canada policy and the principles below.
Acceptable use
- One Scout is intended for use by registered Scouts Canada Scouters, parents, and youth members of a Scout group. Other use is not supported.
- Do not upload content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, or that would violate Scouts Canada's Code of Conduct or child-protection policies.
- Do not attempt to disrupt the service, access other groups' data, or reverse-engineer access controls.
Accounts and access
Each user is responsible for keeping their sign-in email uncompromised. Sign-in is passwordless via magic link, so anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you. Do not share magic links.
Permissions in One Scout (badge admin, schedule, email, finance, private info) are granted by group administrators on a per-section basis. If you believe you are seeing data you should not be, stop and contact your group administrator.
Data ownership
Your group's data — members, badges, events, attendance — is owned by your Scout group. One Scout is the custodian. We will not share or sell group data. On request from a group administrator we will export or delete the group's data in a reasonable timeframe.
Service availability
One Scout is provided "as is." The service runs on a single self-hosted instance and may have outages. We do our best to keep it running but do not offer a formal uptime guarantee during v1.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product matures. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email to group administrators.
